Section 8 Voucher Program

Section 8 Voucher Program

The Section 8 Voucher Program is a federally funded program designed to create affordable housing opporunities for low income-families in the private market. Families are given the chance to search for a suitable unit and receive Housing Assistance Payments (HAP) for that unit. Participating families will usually pay no more than 30% of their monthly income towards their rent and utilities while the Section 8 Voucher Program subsidizes the remaining balance of the rent. The Woodbridge Housing Authority Section 8 Program offers local rental assistance to eligible families. For more information please contact the Housing Authority at 732-634-2750, ext. 123.

FSS Homeownership Opportunities

The Family Self-Sufficiency Program, or FSS, is a goal oriented program that is intended to promote self-sufficiency for low-income families. Encouraging our participants to reach their set goals, the Housing Authority offers a variety of resources to families who are interested in particiating in the FSS program. The program also offers the opportunity for families to establish an escrow account. Each time the family has an increase in earned income, the Housing Authority deposits money into an escrow account for the family. When the family completes the set goals, they graduate the FSS program and then receive the escrow funds. The FSS program encourages families to reach economic self-sufficiency while giving them the opportunity to reach their lifelong goals. For more information please contact the Housing Authority at 732-634-2750, ext. 123.
